My wife says it was just kicking out to live TV whenever she tried playing a recording.
By the time I got there to investigate, it was really strange. It was sitting on channel 2, no sound or video, "No information available" was the name of the show. MyVOD was empty with 100% free (in reality it's always essentially full). The internal temperature was 0C (yep, freezing point of water at sea level). Satellite signal strength showed nothing. Then I noticed faint lines on the display (can't quite explain that).
Unplugged it for 15 seconds and everything is fine.

check system info to see when you received your last download.. if you haven't recd it then you may need to force a download. (yes, info d8 doesn't tell u) if you want to know how to force download pm me. I am not posting that.. sorry only a few are suppose to know how to do that besides certified techs & I think half of them don't know. all downloads for all times zones were to be done in august on the r15-300 & 500

Yes, I've had 104B for some time now, and I think everyone here knows about 02468.

Surfbird - read the R15 FAQ, and puruse these various forums and threads. You will find virtually anything you want to know about the R15 and DirecTV. There are not too many "secrets". Keep in mind, everything is above board, and nothing is posted or allowed that would allow or encourage "theft of service". Short of that however, these are very open discussions.

Walters, I think the hampster in the R15 was on a coffee break. Resetting it sent the shock to it :)

COOL, personally.. I don't think there should be any "secrets" or ratings of customers, period.. I am a customer long before working there. I can say though guys, I am just have a peep squeek cust status rating.. I am not an A list customer & I was w/them since 1999. so trustme, I get very aggravated at "new deals" folks get better than some.. Main reason, I am trying to make an impact there.. I want to make a difference there.
oh, that hamster comment... I always say that when our systems are on "update" status  because U know the systems "never" go down..
good luck on 'supervisor status' that was the persons position that gave me the deal HR20 NO Charge (including shipping)

Much of the better deals people get have to do with their contract expiration it seems. If your close to being out of contract you get the better deals as they want to suck you in for another 2 year commitment. If you just renewed (got a R-15, etc...) your going to get a lesser offer or in my case none at all. I just added 2 R-15's within the last 10 months.
From what I've seen this doesnt matter either (time of contract left). Last October I added a purchased R10 and a week or two latter a purchased R15. Last 4-6 weeks ago added a FREE HR10-250 and am now upgrading to a FREE HR20.
So, in my experience, where I was at in my contract (basically had 2 years to go when I got the HR20 deal) had nothing to do with what deals I was able to receive.
Just my two cents...

Think of it is this way.. in 6mo I've already went straight to retention group & all that is left from there is team leader or supervisor status.. so wish me luck.. on that climbing that ladder.. I want to make a difference there. for all of us. + my team was the best one out of 62 @ our ctr. (they haven't started the next contest on that one again)

rofl & gasping for air...
yeah, right.. like I'm going to get that hr20 for free too..
come on... nah, I am a person like the rest of you, trying as hard as I can to fight for great services too.. but seriously guys.. if those folks knew all the offers that I see that has been "promised or rec'd"- you'd send all the csr's @ D* reacing for a costco size bottles of xanax.. hmn, maybe that is what we need to loosen up a bit, right?? joking..
