D*hd Tivo ??

i was playing w/ the D* HD TiVO at work(a verizon FiOS stand, we use D* cause FiOS tv is not available yet) and i did not like how it worked. w/ my R15 i can use the DATE/TIME feature in the guide is there any way to do this w/ the D* TiVO??

another feature i did not like about this receiver was how painfully slow the guide was. it took like 40 seconds for the guide to load then its even slower when you try through the guide by pressing ch up. This has to be one of the slowest recievers out there. w/ the exception of DUAL BUFFERS, and WISHLIST i really did not like this receiver.

and another ?? for the first time i saw how ugly the PQ of a SD ch on an HD tv. is there any way to make this better if i change the connection from HDMI to S-video will the PQ on both HD and SD channels be better??

The new 6.3 software coming out for the Tivo will make it a lot faster, plus it will have folders and sorting options in the Now Playing list.

HDMI will give you the best PQ for HD. I don't think you can get HD out of svideo. SD generally just looks bad on an HDTV no matter what you do.

crendall makes great points. He's correct that S-video will not display HD. You need component or HDMI.

Also, one way to access a faster guide with the HR10-250 is to switch to the List View. From the Directv Guide, press Info on the remote. I can't recall what the option name is actually called, but you can choose between Directv Guide or List Guide. Select List. The guide will be split-screen. The left shows the channel list and the right side shows upcoming shows for the channel selected on the left side. You can use the right arrow buttons to advance the time in the guide. This guide is MUCH, MUCH faster.
