I can imagine many uses for this little item...
Yep, 64G CF Card.

The 32Gb NAND flash memory can be used in memory cards with densities of up to 64GB. One 64GB card can store over 64 hours of DVD resolution movies (40 movies) or 16,000 MP3 music files (1,340 hours).

I'm thinking as the C: drive for laptops to quicken boot-up time.

I've been toying with the idea of doing a "carputer". This would be great for that purpose. No problem bouncing it around like crazy.

There is still three limitations with flash based memory for a direct hard drive replacement:

1. Cost. A 8GB memory stick still as ~$125. i don't know what pricing is for these memory, but it doesn't exactly sound like it's significantly cheaper process then what we have now.

2. Speed. Flash memory often is slower on reads and worse on writes. This can be gotten around by spreading the storage across multiple chips (think Raid 0) but it's still a limitation.

3. Number of writes. Flash memory has nearly a limitless number of reads, but a limited number of writes. This is measured in millions of writes and the chip tries to manage those writes by spreading them out across the entire bank of memory, but using a flash drive for something like a swap space is still ill-advised.
