View Full Version : AT9 Install
I have an AT9 install scheduled for Friday 9/15. Currently I have the oval single LNB dish mounted on the side of my house in the backyard. Can the AT9 be mounted on the side of a house or does it need to be mounted on the roof? I keep reading about the size and weight of this dish and it has me wondering. I would prefer to have it on the side in the same place as the other instead of having holes drilled in my roof. Thanks.

There's no reason it can't be mounted in the same location as long as you have a clear line of sight to all five satellites. The AT9 dish is a bit larger and heavier than a Phase III oval dish and many installers use a brace to help support the heavier dish. Check with your installer to see if he will do the same for you. The main reason to use the brace is to make sure the dish doesn't become misaligned due to heavy wind and snow accumulation.
