Hi.
I am new at this so bear with me. I have direct tv now and am going to get hd added. Dish offers 25 HD channels, Direct tv 10. I was thinking about switching to Dish. When Direct new I might they said that Dish is not a true H D signal. What do they mean? Is that true or is that just a sales pitch.

It is laughable if they are saying that E*'s is downrezzed. DirecTV (D*) wrote the book on how to downrez HD signals to less than 1920x1080i and still call them HD. E* (EchoStar/Dish Network) has a few channels at a decreased resolution - D* has all of their channels at a decreased resolution.

I can field this one. Dish Network, parent company Echostar (E*), only downrezs SOME HD channels. Direct TV (D*) downrezs ALL HD channels. So he is saying go with Dish Network if you are after HD content.~ColAvsFan
