View Full Version : Can I control 2 receivers with 1 remote?
I want to do this with IR, so that my harmony 880 with control both receivers.
I have the R15 and the HR10? (HD with no DVR but works for MPEG-4)
I had the HR10 on RF and the R15 on IR and that worked from one remote. I used AV1 for the R15. I tried to make them both IR and I can't get it to work.
TIA!
Read the R15 FAQ. It tells you how to set up two R15's, or an R15 and a D11, with a single remote. I don't know, but maybe that would also work with the HR10.

You should have not problem with a HR10 and R15. Two different remotes. I have my 880 controlling a HDVR3 and HR10 but had to set it up for two different Tivo remotes. If you code your R15 and HR10 in the 880 config you should have no problem.

Don't know about the remotes or how much this might change some of the answers, but I believe feeth has an R15 and an H20 (HD with no DVR but works for MPEG-4) - not an HR10(-250).
To switch the R15 to alternate remote address see here. (www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-sat/thread.cgi?2813,1#2)
To switch the H10 remote to IR:
1. dtv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9-6-1
4. press CH DOWN
Of course don't do the above steps until you switch H10 to IR. and the above is a toggle, do it again and the remote is once again set to RF.

I had the same problem with an h20 and HR20. The harmony only has one set of codes and I was controlling both receivers at the same time. The only way I could find to do it was to set up one receiver with to accept the alternate codes from the D remote control and them have the Harmony 880 learn them all. Works perfectly now.
