HI AGAIN.

Not sure what this has to do with HD,but I am a little:confused:

I am thinking of getting a Toshiba DLP TV. Some say to get 1080i, some say to get 720p,( what to do). They say the 1080i is better for slow shots (ie golf ). Some say 720 better for action (ie football ) . My question is when I do switch from Direct tv to Dish (because they have more HD channels) ,should I get on the TV 1080i or 720 p?

What I would suggest is trying both when you make the switch. It is definitely a YMMV and depends a lot on your TV. For some one just looks better. For me a swtich back and forth and it is really hard to tell any real difference and a 10' viewing point.

Super Steelers: Most Toshiba DLP TV's are natively 720p. The high end Toshiba's recently introduced are natively 1080p.
That being said, you have little choice when it comes to viewing. Of the networks, all but ABC and Fox transmit in 1080i. Fox and ABC (and their subsidiaries) transmit in 720p. When a 720p receiver is tuned to a 1080i signal, it converts to 720p. In the best worlds, the conversion would be handled by a scaler, but scalers aren't normally found in any but the most expensive TV's if at all.

Might as well get 1080i. If something looks better in 720p, then you can change your TV to that, but at least you have the option.

I would get a HDTV that's 1080P to stay ahead of the game.:)

I have no problem watching fast action sports in 1080i.

Watching soccer on HDNet is awesome!
