I was just about to sign up for DirecTV for the first time (I couldnt pass up the Sunday Ticket deal). I was reading all the fine print and noticed that I would need my receiver to be hooked up to a phone line. My roommates and I just use cell phones so we dont have a phone service at all. Is this going to be a problem? I tried to search the forums and what I have gotten was that I would need it if using DVR (which Im not).
But some posts mentioned needing it for some sports packaging. Does anyone know if this is true and why this is necessary? Will this affect Sunday Ticket? Im sure if i called customer service they would feed me that I would need to have it but I wanted to know for sure.
