This is stupid question, but instead of swapping out my HR10 for the HR20, I was thinking of just 'ordering' the HR20 and moving the HR10 to one of the other rooms (3 rooms with D* service), except that tv is just a standard television. Would there be a problem with that? In theory, the standard tv just won't pick up the HD channels, right? Just want to know if anyone has tried that before I call DirecTV about making a change. I know if I make this change, I'm going to need an additional sat input (only one there now) added to the other room, but we were thinking of getting a dvr in there eventually.

Nope, no problem at all. Hopefully your TV has SVideo or composite video inputs.

You'll even be able to watch/record the HDTV channels, they'll just be in standard definition (480i).

If you want both tuners active you'll need to run a second cable from your dish/multiswitch. But it will work fine with only one tuner.

I believe you can get local HD channels to record.
