View Full Version : shuttering?

I'm pretty new to HD, so I'm noticing on some of my broadcasts for the football games that the action looks like it's not flowing well on the screen. It looks like the kind of movement you would see if a strobe light were going (maybe that is an extreme comparison but the picture is kinda choppy). Is this what they call shuttering?

Any ideas how to stop it?

It is stuttering, not shuttering. This is an encoding issue on D*s end, so nothing can be done by you to fix it. You can get around it by recording the football games broadcast on the MPEG2 channels in the 80s instead of the local MPEG4 channels. This problem only occurs with the MPEG4 channels and D* is currently in the process of fixing the problem.
