View Full Version : PQ on Greenville, SC locals on E*
The PQ on my locals on D* is pathetic, particularly channels 40 and 62. Just wondering if anyone who has E* in Greenville, SC can tell me about the PQ of locals? I'm thinking about switching from D*. Thanks.

I have E* Greenville/Spartanburg locals. Channels 4 (WYFF), 7(WSPA), 13(WLOS), 21(WHNS), 29(WNTV) and 40(WMYA) are good. The color seems a bit dull for 62(WYCW). The secondary CBS affiliate 32(WNEG) is terrible, the picture is always fuzzy.

You could probably blame that on 32.
Ive seen their newscasts and local programming. They look about 15 years behind the times. You'd think Media General would put a few more bucks into them.
Channel 32 has always had bad PQ. The rest of the channels are fine on E*. I just want them to turn on the HD.

Is not 32 still a restricted low power station?
Also, their local market has to be extremely small.

I believe 32 is a full power station, but it's a "fringe" secondary affiliate for the Greenville market (like WMGM-40 in Atlantic City is for the Philly market and WHAG-25 in Hagerstown for the DC market).
I'm sure that MG used the rules (different state) as well as providing a signal to the Greenville-POP (where the signals are collected for the market) to make sure the station was carried on Dish.

One of the good things about having a secondary CBS affiliate is that you get more NFL games. For example, today channel 7 is carrying the Bengals @ Steelers game and channel 32 has the Jaguars @ Colts.

WNEG actually serves the fringes of Atlanta and Greenville/Spartanburg's markets. To the best of my knowledge, it has always been full power. They used to have the same thing with ABC with WLOS in Asheville and WAXA in Anderson which went to WB and later MNTV. Officially they are in Greenville/Spartanburg but serving mainly to Athens/Gainesville and Toccoa, GA.
