I've been waiting for my $250 from Dish for 2 weeks now. I couldn't get it installed because of trees in the way of the signal so i'm just getting the money back for the 622 HD box. I called again tonight and they said it will be 7-10 days. (what would happen if i didn't call?). I asked the woman for a supervisor and she says none are available. Then i call back and ask a guy for the supervisor and he says please wait one minute.
Then a woman answers as the supervisor with the same distinct voice as the first one i talked to. Just sharing and be prepared to maybe being lied to.
It took 2 days to take my money.

It took 2 days to take my money.Nothing unusual for DISH or any other corp. they love to collect but hate to pay it out. I'll bet if you did business with a local dealer you wouldn't have paid anything until they new they could install it.:)

If this is done with a credit card it's not a big deal. They charge the card, then credit back. If the credit doesn't happen within 30 days, protest the charge - you don't pay while cc co. investigates. It's not really a big deal and can be done over the phone.

Its more complicated.
Dish creates a Dish account for you and then charged your card. Your Dish account has a negative amount, as normal Dish charges appear without a sign.
Dish now enters a posetive charge to your Dish account which doesn't get immdeiately acted upon, just as a charge for next month's Dish programming doesn't get immdeiately acted upon.
When your Dish account "digest" what is in it, your charge card will receive a credit.
I don't think anyone you can talk to at Dish can speed up their accounting system.
Calling and waiting for a supervisor just wastes your time.
I assume one reason for this is security to prevent dishonest employees from xfering Dish funds outside Dish. At one time it was called "Cash Controll".
If you can gain access to your on line account, you'll see a $250 charge, which when digested, becomes a -$250 to your charge card.
You truely have to wait for the Eagle to make a bowel movement.
If you talk to Dish, you have to stick to "When will funds be transfered from my Dish account onto my Charge Card?"
Any disputed charges to your charge card have to be mailed to special address on your charge card statement.
