Some HD shows not really in HD

Why are "Inside the NFL" and "Real Sports", both on HBO, marked (HD) in the guide info, yet when I record them on HBOHD they are SD with the black bars?

I've noticed this on other supposed HD shows, but these two immediately come to mind.

Probably because the guide data is wrong. Those shows have always been upconverted SD.

I am a totally new user. I think what's happening is that the guide will show ANYTHING that's not analog as HD. The programming on my local digital channels
are all shown as HD.
