OK guys, this is a strange one. I'm trying to solve a problem with my set-up for tailgating. For the first couple games this year I took my 322 to the tailgate with a spare Dish 500 (with a DPP Twin) that I have. Everything worked perfectly. I ran two TVs with no issues. Last week we decided that we needed 3 TVs so I also brought my 942 along.
Problem:
I set up the Dish and found the 110 and 119 satellites no problem (using the 322). I added the 942 to the second output of the Dish and it would only pick up 1 of the two satellites and it kept telling me I had a problem with the switch. I disconnected the 322 and used the same lines and DPP Separator that was on the 322 and it still had the same issue. I then cleared out the switches by removing everything and running a check switch again. Tried reconnecting and still the 942 has a switch error and only receives 1 of the 2 satellites (sometimes switching back and forth on which one it receives). Plugged the 322 back in and all is well with it (receiving both satellites on either of the outputs from the Dish).
At this point I'm assuming that there is a problem with the LNBF so I give up.
Fast forward to today. I just picked up a brand new DPP Twin and set everything up at home. Exact same issue as before. I can get anything I want on the 322, but only 1 satellite at a time on the 942. When I run a check switch it says:
Satellite input 1: port 1
Satellite: 119
Trans OK
Device Twin
Status Reception Verified
Switch DPP Twin

Satellite input 2
Port 1
Satellite 119
Trans X (red)
Device Twin
Status Recption ERROR
Switch DPP Twin

Also, when I bring it home to my Dish 1000 everything works fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a software problem in the 942 recognizing the signal on a dish 500, suggest DISH tech support.

Try running individual lines (without separator) from both outputs of the DPP Twin to the 942 and run check switch. If results are the same, swap the lines on the receiver end, and run check switch again. It also doesn't hurt to do a Front Panel Reset as well.

Good thought, but if the input on the reciever was bad it wouldn't work on my home set-up (Dish 1000 with a DPP 44 and 61.5 on the 4th input). Anyone else?

Oh, by the way, I did try running individual lines and both satellites would show up but it still said that I had a switch error and it wouldn't let me get out of the results screen saying that I had an error that must be corrected.

Maybe I am not understanding what you are trying to do... but if I am... is what you are trying to do even possible with a DPP Twin?

I'm not familiar with a 322... but I know the 942 is a dual-tuner receiver that needs two inputs OR needs an LNB that has the combining capability so you can use a "splitter" if you only have one coax run so you can "split" for both tuner inputs on the 942.

So I was wondering if perhaps you need a different LNB configuration to do what you are trying?

I am trying to run 2 dual tuner receivers (the 322 and the 942) off the DPP Twin. I'm using 1 line to each of these receivers with a DPP Separator (two lines to each receiver). This is what a DPP twin is designed to do. The strange part is that everything works fine for the 322 but not for the 942 using the same exact equipment.
