View Full Version : All in one Package??
I have the 625 reciever and was wondering if I get the All in one package, well I be able to view the HDHBO and HD Showtime channels? I know it won't be in HD quaility, but was wondering if I would get them being they are on satelite 110? Believe I have the 500plus dish?
Want to upgrade to the 622 once they get local HD in the PGH Pa area..
Thanks for your commetn.. Ken
No a 625 is not a HD receiver so it won't see the HD channels.
So would it be wise to get the 622 and SD all in one package for 85 dollars. As it has a couple of the movie Hd channels. Not sure I really want to get the HD programming package as I don't see much there that I would watch. Just kinda would like to get HD locals and HDHBO and HDShowtime. Can always add it for 9.95 down the road. The main question is with the 622 then I can watch the couple of HD channels on the SD all in one package? Plus I well get the HD locals automatic when they come to the PGH area? Thanks Ken
no you can't upgrade without an hd package
you'd have to buy a receiver to do that, and then you'd be charged $6 for not having an HD package
Dang,, Thank you so much.. Ken
dish hd platinum is worth it though
only 15 bucks more than aep.
Wonder why they would offer the HD channels in AEP? ken

If one subscribes to HBO or Showtime (I don't know about Starz), the policy has always been to provide the HD feeds of those two channels free of additional charge as part of the HBO and Showtime subscription, even if you don't subscribe to any of the HD packages. If one subscribes to AEP, then obvioulsy, one becomes an HBO and Showtime subscriber as part of the AEP. Therefore, you are provided with the HBO and Showtime HD channels. The catch is you have to have an HD box to enjoy HBO and Showtime in HD. So, do you pay full price for the box just to get HBO and Showtime HD and pay a $6 HD enabling fee (for not subscribing to one of the HD paks)? Or do you pay less money for an upgrade to an HD box, but with the required HD pak subscription?

Yes Starz too.
As mentioned HBO HD, Showtime HD and Starz HD channels are tied to their respective channel groups and not the HD package.
See ya
