Haven't seen anything on this lately...

Has anyone heard when the new slimline antenna will begin rolling out for installation?

TIA

It is in production right now... we should start seeing more information about it in October.

Thanx Earl...

Do you see any advantages in waiting for the new slimline or should people continue with the "old" AT9?

Do you know if the new slimline will have any special multiswitch requirements?

I'd also be interested in the advantages/disadvantages of waiting for the new dish. The mounting requirements for the AT-9 seemed a bit more challenging than my present 3LNB but not so much that I'd totally written off installing it myself (installed 3 others so it's not totally a new experience) but I'd pretty well decided that the aiming requirements are just a bit beyond what I want to tackle. Don't guess that's going to get any better with the new dish....satellites are still in the same place so the same "focusing" routine is going to have to be followed. Oh well.....no more walkie-talkies with me on the roof asking wife "Can you see it now?!?!?" :D

Slimline will use the same multiswitches as the AT9

It will be a little lower in weight and size... but the biggest thing is that it is a single integrated LNB assembly.

What I've been told is about 10% lighter (3-4lbs), a single LNB assembly and a tunning port to make the installation go a bit easier. Some other minor tweaks as well.

This thread over at satelliteguys has some good pictures of the new dish. FWIW, it'll use the same mast as the AT9.
