View Full Version : Skip to tick and/or skip to end?
I recently switched from D* and have been extremely happy with my 622. I did have a few questions about replicating some of my D* Tivo functionality on the 622:
- Is it possible to do "skip to tick" (where you are watching a recorded show and skip forward to the next quarter-interval, like 15 minutes for a 60-minute show)?
- Along the same lines, can you quickly skip to the end of a show? i.e. if I am done watching a show (before it actually reaches the end), what is the fastest way to delete it? If I hit 'DVR' and select the show and choose delete it tells me the show is still running/can't be deleted so I have to stop it, etc. and it just seems like a convoluted process (I usually just FF to the end but I'm looking for a quicker way).
Thanks.

No.
I find it's generally faster to hit the "view live TV" button and then two presses of the DVR button to get back to your recordings so you can delete it. You're correct, it is annoying.
Or just hit stop.
That is all you need to do. Hit stop, and then it will take you back to the DVR screen where you can delete the show. If you hit pause, or just hit the DVR button, you will get the error you mention. But hit stop and it works fine.
As for the skip to tick, I don't think that is possible. Sorry.
Welcome to the 622 world though. It may not be a TIVO, but it is damend nice anyway!

Is there a way with the 622 I can really slow down the display of the guide, i.e. when I hit the guide button I want it to take about 45 seconds for the guide to come up like on my TiVo. Also, can I program it to make annoying noises when I perform a function?

 I'm really annoyed by that silly record time remaining. Tivo never bothered me with such useless info.

You are talking about a feature I never use with my OTA Tivo Standalone. I've always preferred to do the remote change to enable the 30 second skip for skipping commercials.
The one feature I did and still do use with the Tivo that I miss with the 622 is the abilty when it gets to near the end of the show to stop watching by pressing the left arrow and choose delete the show by up arrow and select. Working from memory here at work if I got it slightly wrong. Whereas with the 622 I have to press stop of FF to the end.
