I receive fox,nbc & abc ota in the Palm Springs, Ca. area. I have closed captions turned off on both my vip622 and my Sony SXRD TV. Somehow I am still getting the closed caption on different shows and sporting events like baseball & football. How is this possible?

Welcome to DBSTalk, stugots48. :hi:
It shouldn't be possible. Are you seeing the CC only on sports events, or on all programming from those channels?

Hello Mark and thanks
I see it on all the sports events I've watched on fox so far. I haven't watched any shows yet on fox. I will check one tonight.

Well to answer my own question and maybe help someone else out: I talked to the engineers at the local fox station and they said that it has to do with the feed they are getting from fox and it is only with sports and only with certain equipment. The vip 622 is one of the problem receivers. One of the other guys in the office here also has a vip 622 and also get closed caption on his ota fox.
The engineer also stated that they have an antenna in place for Dish and we should be offered locals soon through dish.
thats all.
