sound problem ?

tonight while watching the HD version of MNF whenever I changed to any other stations I would lose the sound... when I record sometimes the recording has no sound ..I'm using the HDMI connection.. should I do a reset,I was confused on this software update issue, does it load itself or do I have to download ?

I am having the same problem (just noticed it yesterday) while using HDMI. I will try component and see if the same thing happens.

I have a similar problem with digital audio, even though I am not using HDMI, I am using the optical link from the HR20 to my amp. When I switch from a HD channel to a SD channel, I lose the sound. I can change the inputs on my amp and it comes back. I think this is a problem with the encoding of the digital audio stream.
