Hey all first post been following the forum for a while....I live in miami florida. And I just bought my first HD tv a "46 1080p from samsung so it be fitting I went with a nice HD package and I got the below. I see alot of posts about the dish should be a dish 1000 but I think im only getting a dish 500 and a wing dish (what is that?)

My question is this...my room is right next to my sisters room and the tv downstairs is the other eligible tv for service...Basically I want the VIP622 all to myself since IM paying for it and all the service to my house. I dont want to lose signal at all (would I lose signal?) and I dont want to share HardDrive space for saving.

I live in a townhome...will the installer be able to install the second DVR 625 either downstairs or in my sisters room and have them work with each other??

I live in a two story town home...Its not big by any means but there is thick concrete seperating first floor and second floor.

I believe on the wing dish you will fine. I'm in NJ and that is what I run. a Dish 500 pointed at the two main satellites for SD channels and another Dish 500 pointed at 61.5 for the HD and foreigns. The 2nd dish 500 used to be an old direcTv Dish 300 but when Dish switched me to Dishpro the DP LNB wouldn't fit the old DirecTV dish so they swapped that one too. Reception is fine except for tonight I'm getting some slight signal loss from the heavy thunderstorms rolling through.

As for not sharing have it set up in single mode.

They won't drill through thick concrete. Most likely scenario as I see it is running one feed on the outside to the 622 and another outside run to the 625.

Good Luck, I like the 622.

So basically, it will either be for the downstairs tv or my sisters room...sharing mine is not an option. Question...is there ANY signal loss from sharing from the dish/es that are provided even if going to different receivers (sorry for the newbish question) and is there ANY signal loss from sharing from the receiver as in if i were to share my 622 (this one is just for curiosity)

No signal loss - that's not the way digital satellite receivers work. :)
