The technician insalled a seperate dish for sat. 129. He tried a dish 1000 but could never get signal strength above 80. He took it down and put up a dish 500 which increased the signal strength to 91. My superdish is still reading 100+ on 110 and 119. I am hooked up HMDI to a Mistubishi 55" projection TV. HD programming is out of this world picture wise. My receiver seemed to "reboot itself one time last night for no apparent reason. It just shutdown. It said something about needing to detect a phone line with 2 big looking serial numbers below it. Anyway' done what it asked and no problems since. This happened after my house phone rang and the caller ID was displayed. Maybe nothing in common?
The HDMI cable he hooked up has a big serial port connection between the HDMI connectors. Is this okay or should I replace it with a HDMI to HDMI peer connector?
Thanks for advice
622 and happy right now

I'm not sure I follow your description of a "big serial port connection". Do you mean that it was an HDMI <-> DVI cable, and then someone added a DVI <-> HDMI adapter onto one end, to make it an HDMI <-> HDMI cable? If so, it's fine as long as you aren't trying to use HDMI for audio. If you're using the separate digital optical connection for audio, then you should be all set.
Is that 91 for all the transponders. My install the other day was ok. They locked it in at 82 and then after they left I was switching through the other transponders on the 129 sat. Half of them where in the 50-60 range. May switch to a diff dish for the HD channels before winter here in PGH Pa.. So far ok.. Km
My HDMI <-> HDMI cable is created using a long HDMI to DVI cable which connects to a short DVI to HDMI connector. This behaves exactly like a HDMI <-> HDMI cable and will pass audio data from the 622 to the TV. It will only be two channel audio, not 5.1, on the HDMI cable to the TV, but that is true no matter what cable is used.
If you see the message about needing to reboot again, write it down so people can see exactly what it says. I wouldN'T have a wild guess on it.

On 129 orbit every transponder is above 85 using the dish 500 pointed at 129. He could not achieve these numbers with dish 1000 pointed spolely at 129.
