It's about time. But it might cost $10 billion. :nono2: :nono2:

Well, duh! I don't recall the government stepping in to offer converters when they changed the FM broadcast band from the 44-60 mhz (or thereabouts) band to the 88-108 mhz band. My dad had to buy a converter himself so his pricey Stromberg-Carlson console radio wouldn't be useless.

Maybe they want to avoid the government mandate that requires doing two minutes a day of free announcements from 2-17-08 to 2-17-09. That's right in the middle of election$ and Olympic$......bad timing for losing two minutes a day of prime inventory.

It's about time. But it might cost $10 billion. :nono2: :nono2: I'm dubious about the 73 million OTA connected sets figure.

If you have a market for 50 million units, I would be surprised if it couldn't be put together a tuner/modulator the size of a VHS tape with a wall wart and a remote for under $30 each. We're not talking Milspec here.

Casio figured out how to put a complete NTSC TV on your wrist years ago.
