Switching resolutions to match broadcast???

Hello all - I was a longtime DTV subscriber but just switched over to Dish. On my DTV HD-DVR, I was able to cycle thru resoultion settings (480i, 1080i, etc) to match what channel broadcast I was watching - this was done with one button on the remote. So, if I was watching a ABC HD program (broadcast in 1080i obviously), I would switch the DVR to 1080i so no unecessary scaling was done by the DVR.

It appears to be able to do this with the 622, I need to go into the "HD" sub-menus and switch accordingly.

Is that the jist, or am I missing something?

Yes, and you're not missing anything. You could do what others have done and set up macros to do this if you have a universal remote. I haven't tried it myself.

You're not missing anything. One must go deep into the menus to change resolution.

"Native Pass Through" is planned for the 622 ... it may fix this problem.
