There's no doubt about it, sports fans...

Sports programming is one of the main reasons high-definition television has taken off -- and with
good reason. Nothing puts you closer to the action than watching your favorite team in HDTV. With
almost "3D" realism and depth, it's the next best thing to being there.

HDNet Sports puts you in the front row with the most comprehensive coverage of hockey, soccer,
college football, college basketball, motorsports, and more. Each sports production is featured in
full 1080i resolution and 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio, including:

Hard-hitting NHL action.
Full NASCAR race coverage complete with both pre-race and behind-the-scenes reporting.
Major League Soccer - exclusive high-definition coverage, including the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Live horse racing events
NCAA Division I college football and basketball
Professional Boxing
World Extreme Cagefighting

Too bad they have all the odd-ball college teams who no one cares about. They're so off mainstream it isn't funny.

So, you think that a programmer should schedule only the teams that you sit on
your couch and 'root' for? You must be the only sports fans on the planet! How
does it feel to be so special?

As a big-time HD guy, you should be able to understand and appreciate the fact
that HDNet airs sports programming not carried by the BIG-4 nets, and there are
actually other sports fans out there who watch it. If you don't like what's on HDNet,
stick with your usual, but don't dis them for scheduling programs that others want
to receive.

Personally, I think the more HD channels there are, the better it is for all of us.
It's about choice for all of us, not just what the "mainstream" likes.

Mainstream or not, HDNet is broadcasting 3 sharks games in HD this year, which is 3 more sharks games in HD than I'd get otherwise (unless D* can pull a rabbit out of the hat and get FSN BA in HD turned on for me!)

Although, actually, he does make a good point about the odd programming choices. Any way we could talk to the people in charge and get them to just forget all those other games and pick up some more Sharks games in HD. I just *KNOW* that would appease the masses.:D
