I am researching upgrading to the 622, here's my current setup

301 receiver's RCA output connected to CE lab stereo agile modultor (set to station 100) connected to home distribution through RG6. For the incoming remote signal, I use a dish IR to UHF pro converter with the transmitter stuck on to the recievers IR port

580 DVR receiver's RCA output connected to CE lab stereo agile modultor (set to station 110) connected to home distribution through RG6. For the incoming remote signal, I use a dish IR to UHF pro converter with the transmitter stuck on to the recievers IR port.

I plan to replace the 301 with the 622 and run the 622 in dual mode from the home distribution port.

Here's my questions.
1. Will I need to boost the signal any coming out of the modulated output of the 622? My distribution box is in the basement and I have TV's on the upper floor with one run at about 200 ft.

2. Understanding the the 622 comes with 1 IR & 1 UHF remote, will I be able to use an IR to UHF converter for the TV2 output so that TV's that are not in line of site of the IR can be controlled? (I've heard that the IR to UHF transmitter cant be used in this application)

3. Is the modulated output stereo? Dolby surround stereo?

4. Is there any way yet to distribute the HD signal out of the distribution port yet?

1. I'd try just a splitter for the remote tv's first. If there isn't enough signal it would be easy to a distribution amp later (you don't say how many tv 2's you have.)

2. In dual mode tv1 is IR, tv2 is UHF so they need to be controlled via UHF. I am currently using 2 tv's on the home distrubtion cable. When I first hooked it up I had only the tvs hooked up and the tv2 UHF remote worked fine. As soon as I hooked up all the other stuff (DVD player/recorder, VCR) apparently there was enough interference that the tv2 remote quit working. That was easily solved by using a splitter as a combiner to combine tv2 out and the UHF antenna port together. The output of this combiner goes to another splitter to the remote tv's.
Then use a splitter at one of the remote tv's. One output of this splitter goes to the tv and the remote antenna is screwed into the other output. If you need a distribution amp it would probably need to be the first thing in line from the 622 so that the UHF signal of the remotes does not go through it. I am using a spare 8.0 remote from a previous dish receiver on the second tv2. You can get UHF remotes cheaply on ebay for the extra tv2's. Just make sure they are compatible with the 622 UHF.

3. Stereo, I think.

4. In HD, no. Of course you can watch an HD channel but it's SD.
