Updating Tivo other than phone?

I'm new to posting here, but have benefitted in the past from other forum discussions.

I currently have the Series 2 DTV Tivo (SDDVR40) with software 6.2. I only use my land phone line for the Tivo updates and would like to get rid of it. Is there a way for me to update my Tivo any other way? I don't mind the nag messages but would hate to miss out on an upgrade in the future.

There probably will not be any future updates for the Series 2 DirecTivos. 6.2 is the latest. Just check here every so often if you're worried about missing a future update (unlikely). You can always take the DVR to work or a friend/neighbor's house and force a call from there to trigger a software update.
