Which application(s) do you find most useful?

I Find Instant Weather the most useful, I used it to check out the Boston weather and I used it a few other times for Buffalo. Dish Lottery will be useful to me in the furure. Now, when my mom wants to chck the lottery numbers, she can do in from there instead of the internet. I realize some of the applications like, Customer Support, Dish Horoscopes and the Zap2It, are not activated yet but I wanna get a rought idea.

I find the Instant Weather useful, but when are they gonna add new cities?

For me, it's the Interactive Sports and Weather.
I really want this on the 721, I'm guessing the 721 will be next after they finish spooling to the 501's.

Hi Matt, try pushing the red button on your remote, with the Dish Network logo on it, and see if you have the Open TV upgrade.

The Dish home button is only on the 501 and 508 and maybe the 721, I havent seen a pircture of the 721 remote in a while so I dont remember. The 301 uses the standard blue button IR remote.

Although I find instant weather the most useful, it isn't so instant anymore. I can get up from my couch, walk over to the computer, wake it from sleeping, click on a bookmark, and see the weather on a web page before seeing it on the tv. Oh well.
As long as they use unaccurate "accuweather" to provide the weather and hve very few cities I won't use them.
At least when I used to be on D* they used the weatehr channel to provide local weather which was a heck of a lot more accurate than un"accuweather"
Nothing, it all comes up too slow. I would much rather get on the internet for weather, news, whatever. It's quicker to walk upstairs and click on Accuweather than to go to DishHome. And that's even using Adelphia's crappy slow cable modem.
And does anybody actually pay $5 for those el lame-o games?
And while I'm on a roll, anybody else think the font used on the DishHome applications look cheesey? Reminds me of Kristin ITC, or as I like to call it "Gilligan's font".
Geez.....Remind me not to post next time I literally give something away on ebay! And I really thought that item would be bid up high. :o

JBKing, I agree 100% with your comments. The font IS cheesey.
Its slow to start up and the graphics look reminiscent the 1978 Apple II+ games.
I have said before and will continue to say that DISH should drop or seriously downsize this effort / money waster.
How many new channels could we get (instead) if DISH just dropped (or stopped adding) these lame-o openTV apps?
They haven't got a chance in hell of becoming a serious gaming option. This is like me saying the moped will someday seriously challenge Harley Davidson and put them out of business - hahaha!!!
Buy the replayTV division from SBLU already and then we'll talk.
I wish that E* would improve upon Dish Home or just get rid of it entirely because it's a big waste of bandwidth as it is right now. It's slow, the games are pitiful, and Instant Weather stinks. Like JBKing said, it's much faster to simply walk to the computer and go to weather.com than to wait 3 tedious, painstaking minutes to get your weather on Dish Home (staring at a TV screen for 3 minutes waiting for applications to load is the longest 3 minutes of your life). The only thing that is slightly useful is the Sports application. I hope something is done about Dish Home soon.

* DISH, Please spend more time enhancing the PVR software capabilities and less time on this OpenTV crap.
The only apps that I care about are:
weather, sports and customer service. Don't get me wrong,
I don't care much about any of these for the reasons stated already -- but these are "ok" to keep.
The other OpenTV apps arre truly lame-o, IMHO.
