Hello everybody.

I'm a sales rep with a tricky installation.
Does anyone know what components are neccessary to make a revolving dish find line of site with the basic 301 receiver installation in a RV. This is a Travel SAT system. All I know is that the cust. will need an adapter for a--serial port--I am told that Travel Sat systems are not readily compatible with the basic 301. Does anyone have a clue what I need to order and where to make this installation happen. :shrug:

You would need to get an older receiver such as a 3000 that had the adapter on it. Also the 501 and 721 has an adapter on it, although is highly recommended not to use during travel due to the sensitivity to the hard drive in that it would damage it.

I wonder if the 5000/6000 has that on it and what other Dish receivers has them. I know that the original DirecTv receivers have them as well which may be found cheaper which is the biggest receiver they made (RCA) and I have that receiver for DirecTv with that serial port. I sold the original Dish 3000 receiver I had in which had that serial port on it but am sure it can be found on ebay for cheap or on the buy/sell/trade forum on here in which you may want to ask and I am sure someone has it.
