My T60 finally has eaten it... It appears from what I have read online the hard drive is toasted, so replacing it should be the fix (I am stuck at the "powering up"/grey screen)

Other than the online sites, anyone know where in Dallas I can get the parts?

Is it just a blank harddrive? I have to assume that the drive needs software on it.. duh?

thanks for the assistance in advance.

Any standard IDE drive will work. I'd recommend either a Seagate or Maxtor. It must be at least as big as the original drive in your DTivo or you won't be able to restore the software image to it. If you don't have a backup image of the software you can buy one from PtvUpgrade in the form of an InstantCake downloadable CD image for $20. Just make sure you get the right image for your model as they don't give refunds if you get the wrong one by accident.
