It's not recommended to exceed 100ft for H20 & HR20 MPEG4 receivers. Older non MPEG4 can go up to 200ft.

What about some sort of signal booster? or a powered multi switch ?

Signal booster interferes with the frequency range needed for the new Ka band. Multiswitch provided by installer doesn't act as a repeater to improve signal, it just allows more receivers to be connected to one dish, but the retrictions on cable runs is the same. It is possible that a new device will be on the market at some point that will not interfere with the frequency range, but I don't believe it's available yet.

I have at least a130ft run... all signals in the mid 90s (no hd locals though...don't know if that would make a difference).

It's possible, but not recommended to exceed 100ft for new MPEG4 receivers. It is possible your MPEG4 signal quality will degrade the longer the run past 100ft.

Poppycock! A power inserter added to the multiswitch location can extend things even farther as it can supply power to the LNBs farther up the line. http://www.sonorastore.com/510.html shows the only one I know of right now.
