R10 Problem. . . help

Ok, my R10 is doing some weird stuff. . .

It won't show live tv, I checked the signal strength and it's fine. I even put a different DTV unit on the same input and it works great.

The weird thing is that even though I cannot get live tv, it will record shows fine. When I turn the TV on, it stops recording and blacks out.

As long as I leave the TV off and let it record, then wait for it to stop recording to watch recorded shows, I can catch shows in my Now Playing List.

Since I rarely watch live TV it wasn't that big of a deal, but it is still a hassle.

It's finally come to a head now that it's football season.

Anyone else ever heard of this issue or have any suggestions?

How is the R10 connected to your TV? It seems really strange that having the TV on or off could make a difference with how your R10 records or not.

The only way "turning the TV on" could effect a dvr is if you "turn the TV on" by flipping on power to the outlet, and the DVR is plugged into the same outlet.

Or do you "turning the TV on" do you really mean "bringing the R10 out of standby?"

it is connected to the tv via S-video and RCA audio.

That's what I find is the weirdest of all. It's almost like a bandwidth issue which is impossible.

And no, I am not doing anything other than hitting the power button on the peanut remote when I turn the TV on or off.

On the R10, does that button do the dual function thing, where it powers off the TV AND puts the R10 in standby? If so, we may be on to something.
