HR20 - Phone Line Required?

I do not have a land line at all, only a cell phone. Can someone please tell me for sure if a HR20 will work or not?

Not Required to function... you will only lose PPV and possible the ability for some of the extended sports programming

I had an HR20 installed last Saturday and we don't have a phone line. It is a new house so I just told the installer we were having the phone installed next week. No problems at all running the guided setup.

I am the same way, I only have a cell phone. The installer asked if I had one, I said no... and just shrugged and finished up the install. Everything works fine (though if I wanted to use PPV I would have to order online I guess)

What I really want is for them to enable the ethernet port so that I can use that for the same functions.

All new D** Receivers don't need phone line to work. All you will lose is the PPV by remote and Call ID.

You might want to check the requirement for NFL Sunday Ticket. They used to require a phone line as part of the contract.

Required by contract, but works fine without a phone connection.
