Hi I currently have a samsung sir-ts360. I have been reading that the hr20 has a better picture quality. Also is it true that it will upconvert standard definition channels into 108i ? Thanks

No receiver can magically convert a SD picture into a true HD picture. It can crop it or stretch it depending on it's original format. The HR20 is the latest, and can get the new MPEG4 HD that's up and coming. Right now the OTA is disabled, and should be available by software update by December 1,2006.

It is true that the HR20 can output DirecTV's standard definition channels as 720p or 1080i video. But as cybersurfer points out, it's still standard definition video, so it will probably only look slightly better.
