Connecting Cable TV to the ViP622

The manual indicates on page 108 "The 8VSB TV Antenna/Cable in on your receiver's back panel can be used to receive and view programming on the nearby TV from an 0ff-air antenna or cable service"

Connecting an off-air antenna to the Antenna/CATV port works fine, when connecting Cable TV to the port I do not see the cable channels on the EPG nor access them.

Dish's support was no help after 45 minutes on the phone, am I not reading the manual correctly?

The 622 has only an ATSC OTA tuner, unless your cable service retransmitts in 8VSB (very few do) you will not see anything on the cable. Most digital cable is QAM and the 622 does not do QAM.

The 622 manual is poorly written, they should have looked at a TiVo manual to see how to organize and write it.
