I found this very interesting article in EE Times.  Its about the future of Set-Top box design.  It is a VERY interesting technical article about set-top boxs.

Very interesting reading. It goes to prove that there are still a lot of ideas and improvements yet to be made and a lot to look forward to.

I think they should make these receivers upgradable instead of having to replace the whole thing.
