older hughes receivers

   I want to receive DTV locals (Buffalo) from 119 slot using a second 18" dish with a multiswitch. Can I receive locals using my older Hughes receivers- HIRD D2, D42? :shrug:

I don't think so. They are not multi sat capable as far as I remember. I think multi sat capability began with the Hughes E series. Check in the "dish pointing" part of your on screen menu for "select dish type" If there is an option to select dish type you are in business. Otherwise you could rig something up with a multiswitch and a 22khz tone generator to select the 119 but it would probably be easier to just replace the receivers.
