I am fairly new to Directv, (6 weeks) I got the HR20 and assumed that I was getting the top of the line dish as well, I didn't. Since my area is now on the list to get HD locals before the end of the year will they upgrade my dish for free?

Yes, just call DirecTV to schedule an appointment.

Not sure what "super dish" you're referring to, but here are the various DirecTV dishes ....

The AT9 certainly is one of the bigger dishes.

i think he was comparing it to E* superdish 121 or 105. and in comparison its similar, but not exactly the same size.

One question about upgrading to the AT9. The mounting bracket for the pole does it use the same screw holes as the 3lnb bracket? I don't want to have to screw new holes in my post.

I believe all mounts on the AT9, are completely different from the 3LNB. Being that i have not used the AT9 mounting foot, i could be wrong and i'm certain that someone will chime in if so.

BTW, Welcome to DBSTalk.

It's definitely larger than the foot on a single-LNB mount.
