Preemptive Reset

Would it help avoid some of the hang conditions if you perform preemptive resets during times that you are not recording? I'm thinking some of the hang conditions may be caused by memory leaks. What's the consensus?

That's been advocated in the past. If you do it, make sure it boots back up. A couple of us have had it go into the setup routine after a reset. I didn't notice until I got home from work and turned it on to find the screen saver as it waiting for me to run through the setup routine.

I typically reset mine every weekend. Make sure nothing is recording and also change to a different channel to stop the live buffer. I wait 'till it comes back up then put it in StandBY and head off to bed.
