If you call DirecTV to complain you can often negotiate program credits, so that's sort of like getting paid :)

Yes I recently advised someone to sign up for D* with full knowledge of all the issues so they could accumulate lots of free programming.....

Call and complain and you can get a $5 a month DVR credit for 6 months.

I still complain :D sometimes but I got both my R-15's for zero cost, free installation and a $5 credit for six months so I am content. ;)

I am not one to turn down free anything, but I told DTV that unless there is a working DVR when my Tivo dies, I'm moving on. They offered to give me a credit for time lost but my aggravation level is way to high to accept a payoff right now.
