We were told pre-release of many reasons to be hopeful the HR20 would not have the issues it's younger brother R15 did.

CHief among these reasons was that the software was not based on the R15 and the development teams were completely independant.

Yet, other than HDMI and OTA threads the same types of issues are reported on both machines?

If Earl and I each built software (assuming I had a clue how to do it), it would seem unlikely we would independently build sortware with the same issues.

So how did this happen?

My guess is that even though they had two development teams, there were some shared elements to the code base. I can not, as a long time IT development manager, imagine there was no collaboration. It would make no sense.
