A Dual Tuner 322

I e mailed Dish about getting a Duel Tuner 322 and he said I could get one for $69 with an 18 month commentment but also said there is a $5.00 a month lease fee, what is this for? I know its not for having an extra reciever because I would only have one reciever and it would be going to two TV's, so could anyone tell me what this is for?

A lease fee is actually very self-explanatory. It's a FEE to LEASE, hence a LEASE FEE. For all receivers that are leased through DISH, you are charged a $5 fee to lease it (although the first lease fee is included in the package price if you lease a receiver as a new customer). Since you are not a new customer and are using the upgrade plan, the $5 lease fee is tacked on to your bill. No way around it, that I know of. The lease fee replaces the additional receiver fee.

When you lease a car, they don't just give it to you for free. You pay a monthly fee to lease it. Same principle.
