The launch of EchoStar VIII, the high-powered direct broadcast satellite that will be located at EchoStar's 110-degree orbital location, was rescheduled to take place Thursday (Aug. 22) after a second attempt earlier this week was aborted by launch officials.

The flight for EchoStar VIII will take place at 1:15 a.m. Eastern Time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The satellite will be carried by a Proton K/Block DM launch vehicle.

The satellite was originally scheduled to launch from Baikonur on Aug. 20. Before that, the satellite was set to launch in June, but a technical issue aboard the bird - which has been fixed - delayed the launch.

"Weather again?"

Actually, there's weather every day. The
only thing worse than bad weather is no weather at all. :D
