With my 150 sub I get Fox Sports South which I could care less about. Is there a way I can get Fox Sports Net West 2 instead? I want to watch the Dodgers.

Sorry guy. You cannot pick and choose. You get the RSN(s) for your areasa only. For $4.99 a month you can subscribe to ALL the RSNs carried by DISH but they will black out the major pro sports (MLB,NHL, NBA) games. you can pick up college games, minor leagues, and what local programming is out there but you can't just pick the RSN you want----not legally anyway.

FS West 2 is still not available on Dish. It is coming soon...Within the next month from what I understand. It was part of the Fox O&O retrans deal that forced NGC on AT150.
See ya

Hi everyone, I am a new Dish customer and registered here today (been lurking for awhile). Lots of useful information here - thanks!
I recall from the latest Charlie Chat that FSNW2 will be added on September 4th. This will be available only to select Zip Codes however. I don't have the list of these Zip Codes, but I do know that Central California is included. :D

Welcome to DBSTalk, Rainbird!
Zip codes are 900-918 and 922-935, in order to get FSNW2 in AT100 or above.

Thanks everyone, well it was a thought anyway. Fox South carries TEXAS stuff which I could care less about. So if I subscribe to all the Fox Sports channels all the MLB games will be blacked out? What's the point of subscribing to them then?
Steve Mehs

Yes, all MLB games not on FSS, will be blacked out. The reason for subscribing to the multi sport pack would be to see minor league, college, high school sportsfor around the country. I wanted to get the sports pak to see AFL games but I forgot about it. You can also timeshift Fox Sports News :D

If you want baseball then get MLB EI. Oh wait, Dish doesn't have it. Too bad, maybe after the merger you can switch to DirecTV and get all the sports packages. :D

Razorback fan:
You may want to check to see if you can get more than one RSN with the sports pack. My RSN is Fox-Chicago but I also am able to get Fox North and Fox Midwest because of where I live. It gives me Twins, Brewers, some Royals, Cardinals, White Sox, & Cubs baseball. Add that to Superstations and ESPN and it is a pretty good baseball package. Check with E* and you may be living in a similar situation. I know someone has a page that shows the zips .. but I can't remember whom. Sorry!

If he lives in Fayetteville, AK I don't see how he will get the Dodgers.

Only when they play the Braves and Cubs on the road.

If you are qualified to get FSW as your primary RSN, you should get FSW2 as well.

True, but he says that his primary is Fox Sports South, so he is out of luck. :crying:

I should be getting MSG, but I don't, I only qualify for Empire with DBS. That sucks!

I live in Arkansas (AR) not Alaska (AK).

Excuse me sir. They are both fine states but they are pretty far apart geographically. The bottom line though is that you can't choose an RSN. It is chosen for you.

You can see the end of most MLB games if you
subscribe to the Sports Pak on E*. That's
because the blackouts are lifted after three
hours. If a game is delayed by rain or goes
into extra innings, you will see even more.
Of course none of this will matter if
the crybaby millionaires take a walk on August 30!

I know that he doesn't get Fox West living in Arkansas .. but he may qualify for one or more additional RSN's like me .. thus giving him more chances at getting to see his team or teams.

Hmmm maybe I can get a friend to go to all the Dodger games in LA, take a notebook and a web cam, dialup the internet on his cell phone....

Or go to MLB.com and sign up for MLB Condensed Games (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/video/mlb_condensed_games.jsp)

Somehow I have the superstation package. KTLA shows a few dodger games. KWGN (Col) shows a lot of Rockies games, WSBK (Boston) has some Red Sox Games and WPIX (NY)l occasionally has a Mets game. Between that and FSN. TBS, WGN, there is normally a baseball on somewhere.
Pete K.
08-23-02, 02:45 PM
KTLA no longer shows Dodger games. KCOP now
has that contract.
WSBK hasn't been the Red Sox station in at least
a couple of years. The Sox are on the Fox station
in Bean Town. Other than that, what you said is
true.

And KWGN is losing the Rockies at the end of this season.
just "move" to an area that gets the FSN you want. They aren't on spot beam and I doubt you're getting locals in OurKansas

It is being reported on Usenet that FSN-West 2 has been added to the Socal spotbeam and is on channel 411 - Transponder 3. The channel is to be "released" on 9/4 at 5pm.

It has been confirmed by several contributers to the EKB channel list that FSN2 is now on the Los Angeles Spot Beam transponder 3 and channel 411. The channel number may change before it becomes available 9/4/02

Nuh....if i had to place a bet on it - i would bet on channel staying at 411 - as it is now :) ;) :-) ;-)

Is it possible to get the so. cal spot in N. California, maybe with a bigger dish? I am showing some signal strength on tp 3, but It may be from the Seattle spot.
Where are the Rockies moving to?
Steve Mehs

Denvers UPN 20, I forgot the call letters.
Pete K.
09-09-02, 07:29 AM
According to the "Rocky Mountain News," KTVD,
Channel 20. I think that will leave the Mets
(WPIX), Cubs-White Sox (WGN), Braves (TBS),
and the Red Sox (WSBK, staring in '03), as the
only "Superstation" teams.
So all we need to do now is petition Charlie to put FSW2 on Conus, so those of us with the Sports Pack can watch USC / UCLA sports and Mighty Ducks reruns ...
(Note - as a fairly new subscriber, I expected to see all OOM baseball games blacked out, which they were. I have been pleasantly surprised to see that reruns of NHL games are *not* blacked out. It'll be interesting to see what the policy is for NBA reruns on Dish ...)
