OK I'm new at this stuff and am trying to get set up to access Sky Angel. I started out by buying an EchoStar 3000 and 4000 unit along with a SuperDish at a flea market. After talking to a local Dish dealer I found out that the SuperDish wouldn't work with the receivers I bought, so I bought a Dish500 (with the two luns(?)).

After a bit of work I was finally able to connect to the the 61.5 Satellite via Transponder 25. I'm getting a good signal (about 97). However, I cannot get any signal from Transponder 32. I get the same results on both the 3000 and 4000 units. I've tried different cables, and even tried repositioning the dish but still have not been able to find a signal. I'm clueless! Anybody have any suggestions as to what I should try next?

Thanks,

Dave

It is likely that the LNB you have on the dish has a "DishPRO" label. These are designed for newer receivers. You have the dish aimed correctly, but until you replace the LNB with an older one without the DishPRO label or put a "legacy adapter" between your old receivers and the current LNB you won't get the second transponder (TP32).

Thanks for the information. I contacted a local Dish provider and they had a legacy LNB and allowed me to swap it out. Looks like now everything is set up correctly. I just called and activated my service, so hopefully it will be working in the next day or so. Thanks so much for the help! I wish I had found this place a couple of weeks ago! :)
