721, Can't Search, no Keyboard

Keyboard appears when editing names of Favorites lists. No keyboard using search. Consequently I can't search at all.

I've only had this receiver a few days. My first software download was the L103. Wondering if maybe this glitch came along with this download.

I also had no channel mapping of locals. This was corrected with a hard reset. I have reset the receiver several times with no change in the keyboard situation.

I probably should have posted this in the oddities thread, but it's getting kinda long. Thought it might get lost at the end.

When searching you need to highlight the text area and press the select button then the keyboard will come up.

When you get the cursor in the search box hit select and the keyboard will pop up

There is another area that seems to require a virtual keyboard that I can not find, maybe someone can point out what I need to do to get it. When you are setting up a timer event from the menu and you get to the screen where you are setting your times to start and stop, there is a description field that says Dish Timer. If your move the cursor to this field, it appears you can edit it, you can delete letters or add numbers using the remote, but there is no keyboard so you can type in what you want. Am I missing something or is this feature a future enhancement?

You can't edit the Dish Timer box at this time. Maybe when the keyboards are available, which would probably be when internet access is enabled, I'm guessing.

Thanks for the info. Could this be a more non-intuitive method? If I need to search, I need to enter a search word! The virtual keyboard should be the default as long as there's no physical keyboard available.
