I can't believe the install that went down yesterday, and I mean it in a good way.
The HR20 and a new dish are scheduled for yesterday between 1-5 so naturally I expect the guy to show up about 7pm. To my shock at 1:05 the installer shows up and there are 2 guys. One mounts the dish for me, I can't believe they call that one the Slimline! The other takes care of the wiring in the house. I only have 2 receivers so they ran 2 additional cables, to make 4 total, into the house instead of using a switch. 2 hours later I had a new dish and an HR20 installed and they were on their way. I can't comment on the HR20 yet as P.C. Richard and Son screwed up my TV delivery and that isn't coming until Tuesday but on my old Sony Wega using the 16:9 mode it looks pretty good, watched Dexter on Showtime HD and even though it wasn't in HD it filled the area on my set used for the 16:9 mode. I just wanted to throw out there a good, maybe even great install amongst all the horror stories I have read here and trust me I was as shocked as anyone that it went so well.

Are you getting all 3 satelites on your new 5lnb dish? That means you're getting all the local HD's and ESPN2 HD?

I'm worried because i just went back to Directv, they are coming out on friday. The last time I had this done in Sept no tech could hook my dish up right and i got so frustrabated I canceled everything in a fit of rage!

My cable has been a horrid experience, so low quality and keeps going out, that i went back, i pray i get the same guy you got!

I hope I have the same experience as you, as my D* installations have usually been less than stellar. I'm having the replacement dish and the HR20 installed Friday during the 8-12AM timeframe (I'm sure it will be closer to 12 than 8, but am hopeful it will be early since I took the first slot). I am also having the existing D* Tivo that the HR20 will be replacing moved to my son's room. Hopefully that will go without a hitch as they will have to run one more line in there. I would love to see if I could talk them into putting up an outdoor antenna, but if it costs too much, I'll probably forego it for now. ANyway, since you are in NYC, perhaps I'll wind up with the same folks as you.

Sorry, I forgot about this post there weren't many replies, yes I get all local HD stations and ESPN2. In the guide I get two channel 2's, 4's, 5's and 7's one is the HD and one is the SD. The installers were great, two guys from the Caribbean. I am in Middle Village so if installers have a set area you may get the same guys.
