This release features an update to the way you can set recordings, via the full screen GUI method.
Note: This does not effect "one push" record options in the guide

This record menu structure is also consistent with the latest builds of the R15
There are no new options in the menu. This is only a change from the Tabular form of the record menu, to two distinct record menu options
This is a nice small "touch" - its the small things like this that will polish this box...
Any word on them activating some sort of audio/beeps...to me that just makes it seem right...
Maybe its just me...or my brain being used to TIVO...

First thing I ever did to my TiVo was remove those annoying beeps. BEEP.:rolleyes:

Very nice change. I HATE the tabs on the page. Too much moving around with the cursor. Yet another thing to look forward to.
Earl, this is going to be an R15 question, but since it relates to this feature I'm posting it here. When shall we expect to see this update on the R15? I was just bouncing around on the R15 last night updating some of my SL's and I was getting really irritated having to cursor up to select the tab and then back down.

I like this change. I don't visit this menu area often, but when I do I always have to remember that I need to make changes in a screwy way. That's how I'm able to get it right. This "new" way will make it much easier on my brain - thanks DirecTV.
Just tried to download it, and it's downloading 0xfa again!

Extended Staggered Rollout: Small subset of users first (mostly Pacific Timezone), then a gradual increaes of the user base. primarily by timezones. Being that this is such a large release, it make take several days for everyone to receive the update. Please don't ask why you don't have the update, unless you see an update that the release has gone national; and you don't have the release yet.

Why not just use the green and red buttons to access the tabs. No cursoring (or cursing) needed.

I musta missed that trick in the tips and tricks area. I thought the green and red buttons were only good for 12 hr jumps in the guide! :(

My R15 already has it that way and I was wondering when the HR20 would be this way. Nice change!

Runner has one of the "non-national" builds.
A new release for the R15 is being tested, and we should be seeing it soon.
And the Record Options, are there.

Mine has had it for a few weeks. When "MyVOD" became "MyPlaylist". [Sorry, I'm at work right now so I can't check the specific version number but I do remember it is an upgrade some say they got and then lost, I haven't lost it.]

Not really sure how I got it either. I didn't force the upgrade as far as I can remember.

In hindsight this is kinda funny. I hate the tabs on my sat receivers but I use Firefox as a browser because I like tabbed browsing. Hmmm..... :confused:

Hahaha! Same here.... I couldn't cope without tabbed browsing.
I'm trying to add 30 minutes to tonights Red Wing game. After I enter Stop: 30 Minutes Later and select Update from the Record screen, I end up with a "Please wait..." screen that never ends. Once in this mode, the Back and Exit buttons don't work and I have to cycle power on the HR20.
I'm fairly new to HR20 and don't recall this before today's download. Is this a new or old problem?

New to this release, but has occured in previous releases.
Please confirm that you have version 0x104, if so... post in the main discussion thread for 0x104, your problem again... so we can track it there.

That is in the Wishlist Survey as:
Enable "Sound Effects" as shows in the photo on p. 29 of the manual
It is promised in the manual but is still disabled.
