As of tomorrow, Dec. 12, I am losing (not loosing) my beloved HDNets. :icon_cry: :icon_cry: :icon_cry:

From my recent post in the "Adelphia" thread:The Bad

Effective December 12, the following channels will no longer be available: American
Life, CNBC World, ESPN U, HDNet, HDNet Movies and INHD2. More changes are
expected after January 10, 2007

Does anyone know of a way I can sub to HD only with E* or D*?

HELP! :whatdidid

During 2003 when I switched from E* to D* I continued to keep my 6000 receiver active for HD only for several months. I paid the HD package price (then $9.99) and a $5.00 service charge, since I didn't have one of the AT-xx packages.

I would think you could pick up a used HD receiver cheep, but getting a HD-DVR might be another story, unless you sign up as a new customer for E* or D*.

Thanks for the suggestion, Phil. I still have an 811 (deactivated), but it's been over a year since I switched from E* to cable, so I doubt I could just 'reactivate' the 811.

I doubt I could just 'reactivate' the 811.I don't see why not. Give 'em a call and let us know what happens.

Most info points to not being able to activate the 811 for HD unless you already have an account that had the HD pak on it. This way they can force an upgrade to the mpeg4 boxes.
