There is no easy way, as it is not a feature of the system.

The HR20 doesn't have dual live buffers like TiVo. I'm sure if you search the forum for "Dual Live Buffers" you will find all sorts of opinions.

The easiest workaround for most is to set something to record on both channels, and use either the stop or back buttons to go back to the list and choose what you want to watch.

I new there was not live buffers but was not sure if you needed to switch if you were recording on a channel and wanted to watch another.

Just choose the channel you want to watch, and unless you're recording two things, it will keep recording in the background while you watch something else in the foreground.
