View Full Version : dish 300 to 500 upgrade
Are there any methods available today to swap an old dish 300 for a dish 500? For free to real cheap?
A buddy of mine has a 300 pointing to 119 still, and now he wants to get satellite 110 so he can get the Austin Local channels..

Couldn't he just subscribe to the Austin locals? Then, they can come out, point the dish to either 61.5/148, and add the Dish 500?
does dish give free dish 500's to people that order the local networks?

Kyoo,
No. The ONLY Dish Network offer for the Dish 500 is listed in my last post.
ZLoth, in order to subscribe to locals, you have to have a Dish 500. It is a requirement to the package. So you can't get around it that way. Good idea though.

You could also buy another dish 300 at a reasonable price and a sw-21 switch and point that second dish 300 towards 110, if you did not want to sign up to top150 commitment for a year, but what would the point of having a dish at 110 be other than signing up for local channels?

AT150 channels, additional premium and PPV feeds. See Tony's chart.
